People in Agios Athanasios used to organize excursions to the countryside quite often and prepared the traditional “souvla” (pieces of meat cooked on charcoal )and they enjoyed themselves, eating and singing till late in the afternoon.

In the old days the bride and the groom used to get dressed separately at their houses in the presence of relatives and friends with the accompaniment of local traditional music.

Green Monday people in Agios Athanasios used to go out in the fields in big groups and have fun till late in the afternoon. They put the tablecloth on the ground and enjoyed the traditional food of the day, eating and singing all day long.
