A beautiful composition by Russian painter Eugene (Evgenios in Greek), representing the wide array of themes inspiring the music of Mikis Theodorakis, who is considered Greece’s most renowned and accomplished composer. This painting was made after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The songs of Theodorakis about Cyprus influenced Evgenios and he selected this theme. Eugene was very fond of Greek culture and particularly, the island of Cyprus which he visited on numerous occasions.

Η « Καλλιτεχνική σύνθεση της τραγωδίας της Κύπρου » είναι έργο του Ρώσου ζωγράφου Ευγένιου , ο οποίος, για τη φιλοτέχνησή του, εμπνεύστηκε από τα τραγούδια του Μίκη Θεοδωράκη, τον οποίο και παριστάνει να διευθύνει χορωδία. Στο έργο αποτυπώνεται η τραγωδία της Κύπρου μετά την τουρκική εισβολή. Ο καλλιτέχνης, ο οποίος γεννήθηκε το 1938 και πέθανε το 1989, επισκέφθηκε επανειλημμένα την Κύπρο και αγάπησε τον λαό της.
