A small wooden box hand painted with a Byzantine illustration of Saint George on the lid. A rare desirable item, it belonged to the renowned Greek painter, writer and icon painter Fotis Kontoglou, who according to his daughter’s certification of authenticity, he used it to keep his egg tempera paints. Such paints are traditionally used for authentic Byzantine iconography. This is a form of art that it's still used today in the Orthodox Christian culture.

« Αγιογραφημένο κουτί ». Η αγιογραφημένη εικόνα είναι του Αγίου Γεωργίου. Είναι ελαιογραφία πάνω σε ξύλινο κουτί, έργο του μεγάλου αγιογράφου και συγγραφέα Φώτη Κόντογλου.. Αυτού του είδους το κουτί, σύμφωνα με τη θυγατέρα του καλλιτέχνη, η οποία βεβαιώνει και την αυθεντικότητά του, είναι σπάνιο και πολύ σημαντικό, επειδή εχρησιμοποιείτο από τον πατέρα της για τη φύλαξη των χρωμάτων της αγιογραφίας του.
