The painting is titled as << The Veil of Veronica>> or <<Christ Meeting Veronica on the Road to Calvary>>
Τhe artist depicts the moment a woman (shown on the right) offers a cloth veil to Christ (shown on the left) to wipe the sweat from his brow as he carried the enormous wooden cross he was to be crucified upon. The importance of this moment is that according to tradition, it is believed that at the moment Christ wiped his face with the cloth, his holy features were imprinted upon it.
Tizian School: Tizian (1488/1490-1576), known in Italian as Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vercellio, is considered the most important painter.

O « Χριστός συναντά τη Βερόνικα καθ’ οδόν προς τον Γολγοθά ». Η Βερονίκη στη Δύση θεωρείται ότι είναι η γυναίκα που σκούπισε το πρόσωπο του Χριστού κατά την πορεία του στον Γολγοθά με μαντήλι, στο οποίο αποτυπώθηκαν τα χαρακτηριστικά του. Ο πίνακας είναι ελαιογραφία πάνω σε καμβά και ανήκει στη λεγόμενη « Τιτιανική Σχολή ». Η Σχολή αυτή έλαβε το όνομά της από τον Ιταλό ζωγράφο, που έζησε στη Βενετία και λεγόταν Tiziano Vecelli ή Tiziano Vecellio ( + 1576 ). Στα αγγλικά ο καλλιτέχνης λέγεται Titian, εξ ου και το όνομα της ομώνυμης Σχολής.
