Description
Christ is seated on a rainbow and is lifted by two angels on a disc. He is blessing and holds a closed scroll. Below, two angels with Virgin Mary and the Apostles are contemplating with admiration. The icon is found in the nave of the iconostasis in the Katholikon and belongs to the enriched cycle of Dodecaorton. Dimensions 41 x 53 cm. Painted by Joseph Chourri.
Ο Χριστός κάθεται πάνω σε ένα ουράνιο τόξο εντός δίσκου που ανεβάζουν στον ουρανό δύο άγγελοι. Ευλογεί και κρατεί κλειστό ειλητάριο. Κάτω άλλοι δύο άγγελοι με την Παναγία και τους Αποστόλους βλέπουν με θαυμαστό. Η εικόνα της Ανάληψης βρίσκεται στο κεντρικό κλίτος του εικονοστασίου στο Καθολικόν και ανήκει στον διευρυμένο κύκλο του Δωδεκαόρτου. Διαστάσεις 41 x 53 cm. Έργον Ιωσήφ Χούρρη.
