Description
The Lamentation depicts Christ lying before the Cross that dominates the center of the icon. Virgin Mary is lamentating, embracing His head. She is accompanied by two women, Nikodemos and Joseph of Arimathea. This icon is found on the south aisle of the iconostastis in the Katholikon and belongs to the enriched cycle of Dodecaorton. Dimensions 35 x 43 cm. Painted by Joseph Chourri.
Ο Επιτάφιος Θρήνος παριστά τον Χριστό νεκρό κάτω απο το Σταυρό που δεσπόζει στο κέντρο της εικόνας, με την Παναγία να θρηνεί συνοδευόμενη απο μυροφόρες, τον Νικόδημο και Ιωσήφ απο Αριμαθαίας. Η εικόνα βρίσκεται στο νότιο κλίτος του εικονοστασίου στο Καθολικόν και ανήκει στον διευρυμένο κύκλο του Δωδεκαόρτου. Διαστάσεις 35 x 43 cm. Έργον Ιωσήφ Χούρρη.
