Description

Resolution 353 (1974) was adopted unanimously by the Security Council on 20th July 1974, whereby among other matters it:- Deplored deeply the outbreak of violence and the continuing bloodshed, -Expressed concern about the necessity to restore the constitutional structure of the Republic of Cyprus -Recalled its Resolution 186 (1964) of 4th March 1964 and subsequent Resolutions and called upon all States to respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Cyprus-Called upon all parties, as a first step, to cease all firing and to exercise the utmost restraint and refrain from any action that might further aggravate the situation.-Demanded immediate end of foreign military intervention in the Republic of Cyprus and requested the withdrawal without delay from Cyprus of foreign military personnel present otherwise than under the authority of International Agreements and those whose withdrawal was requested by the President of the Republic of Cyprus in his letter of 2nd July 1974.
