Description

By the late 1870’s her conservative Prime Minister Disraeli had managed to coax her back into public view. Queen Victoria described herself as a liberal and supported constitutional government, free trade and religious tolerance. In 1877 Disraeli made her Empress of India, a title she carried until her death in 1901.
