Description

Cyprus Post are issuing this year the second part of the Cypriot Wild flowers series consisting of four stamps
Allium sphaerocephalon subsp. sphaerocephalon
A bulbous perennial herb, which usually grows in vineyards, garigue and rocky slopes, especially in the western part of the island, from sea level to 1250 m. It blooms from May to June.
Anthemis tricolor
Εndemic, prostrate perennial herb. It is very common on dry, rocky slopes with phrygana vegetation, from sea level to 850 m. It blooms from February to May.

Onobrychis venosa
Endemic perennial herb with short stem. A common species in many areas of the island, occurring usually in phrygana vegetation or occasionally on sandy coasts, from sea level to 1000 m. It blooms from February to March.
Tragopogon porrifolius subsp. longirostris
Biennial or perennial herb with a thick, fleshy taproot. It is very common in cultivated and fallow land, along roads, in phrygana and stony hillsides from sea level to 1950 m. It blooms from March to June.
