Description

Rotary International the world’s first service club organization was founded on 23rd February 1905
in Chicago and currently enjoys more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Its motto is Service Above Self.

All members are volunteers who provide humanitarian service and help in building goodwill and peace. They address challenges such as illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty and other human needs. In 2005 the PolioPlus project aimed at helping the immunization of over two billion children against polio.

In Cyprus there are nineteen clubs with 900 members who endeavour to help our society and encourage ethical standards. Rotarians everywhere are united in achieving the goals of the organization and to promote a better and more prosperous society.
