A portrayal of the Daphni monastery, near Athens in the suburb of Chaidari, by the artist Antonis (Anthony) Malliarakis. Known by his pseudonym Mayo, Malliarakis was the son of a Greek father (an engineer of the Suez Canal) and a French mother. Mayo was also involved in the film industry as painter and decorator for numerous motion pictures and even acted in one. He lived most of his life in France, where he was eventually naturalised as a French national towards the end of his life and died in 1960.

Ο Αντώνης Μαλλιαράκης υπήρξε γνωστός με το ψευδώνυμο Mayo. Ο πατέρας του Μαλλιαράκη ήταν ΄Ελληνας και η μητέρα του Γαλλίδα. Εργάστηκε και στον κινηματογράφο ( ντεκόρ και κοστούμια ).
