This icon of the Dormition presents the Holy Virgin laying on a high bed surrounded by the Apostles and a host of women. On the upper part of the icon Christ holds a miniature of his mother shrouded and on the lower part of the icon an angel is preparing to stike a man who tried to defile her body by dragging it to the earth and cutting his hands . The icon is found in the nave of the iconostasis in the Katholikon and belongs to the enriched cycle of the Dodecaorton. Dimensions 41 x 53 cm.

Η εικόνα της Κοιμήσεως εμφανίζει τη Θεοτόκο ξαπλωμένη σε υψηλό κρεββάτι και πλαισιωμένη απο τους Αποστόλους και μεγάλο χορό γυναικών. Στο άνω μέρος της εικόνας ο Χριστός κρατεί τη μητέρα του σε μικρογραφία σώματος σαβανωμένου, ενώ στο κάτω μέρος της εικόνας ένας άγγελος ετοιμάζεται να κτυπήσει τον άνθρωπο που προσπάθησε να βεβηλώσει το σώμα της Θεοτόκου, ρίχνοντάς τον κάτω και κόβοντάς του τα χέρια. Η εικόνα βρίσκεται στο κεντρικό κλίτος του εικονοστασίου στο Καθολικόν και ανήκει στον κύκλο του διευρυμένου Δωδεκαόρτου. Διαστάσεις 41 x 53 cm.
