Description
Saint Joachim, the father of Virgin Mary, is praying in the mountain and is instructed by an angel about the pregnancy of Anna. Two other men are watching and talking between them observing Joachim. This icon is found on the northern aisle of the iconostasis in the Katholikon and belongs to the enriched cycle of Dodecaorton. Dimensions 35 x 43 cm. Painted by Joseph Chourri.
Ο Άγιος Ιωακείμ, πατέρας της Παρθένου Μαρίας, κάθεται στο βουνό και δέχεται το μήνυμα της εγκυμοσύνης της Άννας απο έναν άγγελο του Κυρίου. Δύο άλλοι άνθρωποι παρακολουθούν και συζητούν μεταξύ τους στρέφοντας το βλέμμα τους προς το μέρος του Ιωακείμ. Η εικόνα βρίσκεται στο βόρειο κλίτος του εικονοστασίου στο Καθολικόν και ανήκει στον διευρυμένο κύκλο του Δωδεκαόρτου. Διαστάσεις 35 x 43 cm. Έργον Ιωσήφ Χούρρη.
