Description

Capparis spinosa is the botanical name of the common rough and prickly southern European shrub with long trailing shoots better known as the caper plant. It grows in dry uncultivated fields and rocky surroundings up to an altitude of 350 meters. Its large white flowers with rose or mauve tips appear bet ween May and August and the flower buds are eaten pickled.
