Description
Saint Neophytos is depicted between the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The Archangels are holding the Saint by the shoulders and their wings are crossing behind his back giving the impression that he also is angel-like An inscription explains the picture: "I fervently pray that I may indeed be enrolled among the angels by virtue of my habit.". It was painted by Theodoros Apseudis. The wall-painting is found on the ceiling of the Sanctuary of the Enkleistra above the Altar.
Η τοιχογραφία απεικονίζει τον Άγιο Νεόφυτο όρθιο μεταξύ των Αρχαγγέλων Μιχαήλ και Γαβριήλ. Οι Αρχάγγελοι κρατούν τον Άγιο από τους ώμους, ενώ οι πτέρυγές τους διασταυρώνονται στην πλάτη του δίνοντας την αίσθηση ότι και αυτός είναι αγγελοειδής. Η επιγραφή αναφέρει: " ΤΟΣΧΗΜΑ ΤΟΥΤΟ ΔΥΑΣ ΗΓΙΑΣΜΕΝΗ ΕΙΣ ΕΡΟΝ ΕΛΘΕΙΝ ΙΚΕΤΕΥΩ ΣΥΝ ΠΟΘΩ". Η τοιχογραφία έγινε από τον Θεόδωρο Αψευδή. Βρίσκεται στο τύμπανο της οροφής του Ιερού, πάνω απο την Αγία Τράπεζα της Εγκλείστρας.
