Description
Joseph of Arimathea or Nicodemos is embracing the body of Jesus, holding a shroud to embalm him in it. Virgin Mary is holding tenderly His right hand close to her face while John his disciple is on his knees showing his adoration to him. The wall-painting is found in the upper zone of the east wall of the Naos in the Enkleistra above the entrance.
Ο Ιωσήφ από την Αριμαθαία ή ο Νικόδημος αγκαλιάζει το σώμα του Ιησού, κρατώντας σεντόνι για να Τον τυλίξει μέσα σε αυτό. Η Παναγία κρατά στο πρόσωπό της με τρυφερότητα το χέρι του Ιησού ενώ ο Ιωάννης ο μαθητής είναι γονατισμένος και προσκυνά τα πόδια του. Η τοιχογραφία της Αποκαθήλωσης βρίσκεται στην δεύτερη ζώνη εικονογραφίας στο Ναό της Εγκλείστρας πάνω απο την είσοδο.
