            Description
The Cyprus Folk Art Museum was created in 1937 by Society of Cypriot Studies. This is housed on the ground floor of the old Archbishopric, an amazing 15th century gothic monastery, and it consists of a large collection of 19th and early 20th century Cypriot folk art. It includes wood-carved objects, tapestry, embroidery, pottery, Cypriot folk costumes and material hand-woven on the loom. The importance of this museum is that it managed to saved hundreds of important items by areas that now is under Turkish occupation.
