Description
Here we have a 13th century two-sided icon of superb palaeologian art where one side depicts the Crucifixion and the other the Virgin Mary. The icon was displayed in the exhibition "Treasures of Cyprus" which was held in the Museum of Decorative Art at the Louvre from 7th November 1967 to 3rd July 1968. Some two hundred and fifty works of art covering the period from the 6th millennium B.C. to the 19th century A.D.were exhibited. The icon belongs to the Phaneromeni collection in Nicosia.
