Description

This stamp depicts a jug of Bichrome ware decorated in the "freefield" style with a bull sniffing a lotus flower.It belongs to the Archaic Period (750-650 B.C.) and was discovered at Arnadi.It is now in the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia.The Archaic Period was a time when the population of Cyprus continued to be mixed with Phoenicians still in control at Kition and the indigenous Cypriots at Amathus.
