Description

Female figurine; hollow, cylindrical body; two protruding breasts; both arms raised; face roughly modelled with nose and eyes producing a bird-like effect; erect headdress (polos) flat and rectangular. Hard, light buff clay; matt, dark-grey and red paint; wide red and dark-grey bands encircling base and lower body. Painted lines on arms, a bichrome latticed triangle and two crossed black lines on breasts are worn off!

Within the framework of collaboration between Världskulturmuseerna and the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at Cyprus University of Technology, the digitization of a substantial portion of the Cypriot collection at Stockholm's Medelhavsmuseet Museum has been accomplished.
