Στην πλατεία βρίσκονται τα παραδοσιακά καφενεία όπου κάθονται βρακοφόροι άνδρες. Η επιγραφή 'God save the Queen' και τα αρχικά 'ER' υποδηλώνουν ότι η Κύπρος ήταν Αγγλική αποικία την εποχή που λήφθηκε η φωτογραφία και συγκεκριμένα όταν στον θρόνο ήταν η Ελισάβετ.
At the central square there are coffee shops where men wearing the traditional costume, called 'vraka', have a Cypriot coffee. A sign labeled with a 'God save the Queen' phrase and the initials of Elisabeth, 'ER', indicate that Cyprus was a British colony when the photo was taken and specifically during the reign of Elisabeth.
