Description
Exact replica of the Antikythera Mechanism. Its dimensions correspond to those of the original Antikythera Mechanism and it is constructed of the same material, i.e. bronze for the gears and shafts and wood for the construction of the box.
Replicas can be found at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, located adjacently to the original fragments of the Antikythera Mechanism, at the NOESIS Centre of Science and Technology Museum in Thessaloniki and, lastly, at the building of the Research Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The model was designed by Marianna Efstathiou, Alexandros Basiakoulis, Kyriakos Efstathiou, Magdalini Anastasiou and Ioannis Seiradakis and was built by Kyriakos Efstathiou, Marianna Efstathiou and Alexandros Basiakoulis.

Ακριβές αντίγραφο του Μηχανισμού των Αντικυθήρων. Οι διαστάσεις του αντιγράφου αντιστοιχούν σε αυτές του αρχαίου Μηχανισμού και είναι κατασκευασμένο απο ίδια υλικά, δηλ. μπρούντζο (κράμα χαλκού με κασσίτερο) για τα γρανάζια, τους άξονες κλπ. και ξύλο για το κιβώτιό του.
Ίδια αντίγραφα υπάρχουν στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο στην Αθήνα, δίπλα απο τα αυθεντικά θραύσματα του Μηχανισμού των Αντικυθήρων, στο Κέντρο Διάδοσης Επιστημών και στο Μουσείο Τεχνολογίας, ΝΟΗΣΙΣ, στη Θεσσαλονίκη και στο κτήριο του Ειδικού Λογαριασμού Κονδυλίων Ερευνας του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης.
