The miniature sheet illustrates Cyprus’ first (doves) second (tree), third (co-operation emblem) and fourth (Europa flower) stamps that were
issued with a common design with other European States who share the same vision of a united peaceful Europe free from the horrors of World War II.
It was in 1956 that the first Europa stamps were issued by France, West Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands who became the founding fathers of what is now called the European Union.
On 1st May 2004 Cyprus became a full member of the European Union which now consists of 28 countries.
