The item shown is a 5 mil coin. This type of coin was introduced in Cyprus in 1955 during the reign of Qeen Elizabeth II. Coins of 3, 5, 25, 50 and 100 mils were minted. The designs of the coins reflected the history and civilization of Cyprus. Given the old coinage methods, coins were often cut uneven like the object displayed.
