early Christian basilica dates back to the 5th
century AD and was probably the Cathedral
of Kourion, with separate baptistery on the
external northern side. The “House of Achilles”
and the “House of the Gladiators ”were named
after their superb mosaic floors.

Στην Παλαιοχριστιστιανική Βασιλική στον Αρχαιολογικό Χώρο Κουρίου στην Λεμεσό χρονολογούνται τα κατάλοιπα ενός μεγάλου συγκροτήματος μιας τρίκλιτης παλαιοχριστιανικής βασιλικής. Πρόκειται για τον επισκοπικό ναό του Κουρίου ο οποίος χρονολογείται στις αρχές του 5ου αι. μ.Χ., ενώ τον 6ο αι. έγιναν κάποιες μετατροπές και τοποθετήθηκαν καινούργια δάπεδα με ψηφιδωτά και μαρμαροθέτημα.
