Description
The central part of the chapel’s roof is decorated with the painting of Christ Pantocrator. The four Evangelists are located in the four internal angles that define the two arches and the horizontal dividing decorations, as is customary in the dome drums of domed churches. Lower to the right the painting of Evangelist Luke is seen. The inscription around Christ Pantocrator says: " APO ANATOLON HELIOU MEXRI DYSMON TO ONOMA MOU DEDOXASTAI EN TOIS ETHNESIN KAI EN PANTI TOPO THYMIAMA PROSFERETAI TO ONOMATI MOU” meaning “ From sunrise until sunset, my name will be glorified in all nations and incense will be offered in my name, in all countries”.
Σε κεντρικό τμήμα της οροφής του παρεκκλησίου εικονίζεται ο Παντοκράτωρ και στις τέσσερις εσωτερικές γωνίες που ορίζουν οι δύο καμάρες και οι οριζόντιες διαχωριστικές διακοσμήσεις εικονίζονται οι τέσσερις Ευαγγελιστές , όπως συνηθίζεται στα τύμπανα του θόλου των εκκλησιών με θόλο. Κάτω δεξιά διακρίνεται ο Ευαγγελιστής Λουκάς. Η επιγραφή γύρω από τον Παντοκράτορα αναφέρει: «ΑΠΟ ΑΝΑΤΟΛΩΝ ΗΛΙΟΥ ΜΕΧΡΙ ΔΥΣΜΩΝ ΤΟ ΟΝΟΜΑ ΜΟΥ ΔΕΔΟΞΑΣΤΑΙ ΕΝ ΤΟΙΣ ΕΘΝΕΣΙΝ ΚΑΙ ΕΝ ΠΑΝΤΙ ΤΟΠΩ ΘΥΜΙΑΜΑ ΠΡΟΣΦΕΡΕΤΑΙ ΤΩ ΟΝΟΜΑΤΙ ΜΟΥ».
