Old historic cars are classified in three categories: a). Classic sportscar, b). Saloons/ Sedans, c). Commercials such as buses, coaches, fire engines, ice - cream vans and others. All these categories have their adherents and enthusiasts. Many people aspire to own an old antique car either for prestige purposes, or simply for the love of owning a beautiful machine from the good old days. Old historic cars may require significantly more diligence, time, money and deter mination to run and maintain them. The question of spare parts availability is very important. The car depicted on the 20 cents stamp falls in the classic spor tscar category and is a Triumph Roadster 1800 from 1946. It is interesting to note that the car bears a red cross emblem on the gr ille denoting that the original owner was a doctor. From the same manufacturer, the Triumph Spitfires are of more recent times and may be remembered by many.
