This is one of the two Christmas issues where the designer's presentation is modern and is not based on existing works of great religious worth or meaning.The set covers the holiday periods, which include Christmas, New Year and Epiphany Day. The 15 cents stamp, which relates to the New Year holiday, depicts an old wooden door of a Cypriot house adorned with cuttings of plants or trees.This was the usual way of decorating the main entrance of a house on New Year's Eve while awaiting the dawn of a New Year.
