Pottery as a profession appeared in Cyprus in the early Neolithic Period. With the appearance of pottery, the Cypriot craftsman used the plasticity of the clay, collection it from local surroundings, to create domestic utensils for everyday use.

Lefkara lace embroidery, known as Lefkaritiko, is one of the most distinctive crafts of Cyprus. It is the best known in Cypriot embroidery. Its name derives from the village of Lefkara, the village where it was first developed.
