Ωστόσο αντίγραφό της διασώθηκε από τον θείο της στην Αμερική. Στην φωτογραφία η Δέσπω είναι τριών χρονών. Η Δέσπω όταν φοιτούσε στο δημοτικό σχολείο θυμάται ότι της άρεσαν πολύ τα μαθηματικά. Ήταν πάντα πρώτη στην τάξη. Η δασκάλα και ο δάσκαλος της, κος Σταύρος, τότε για να την ευχαριστήσουν άνοιγαν ένα μεγάλο ερμάρι και της έδιναν μολύβι, ή σβηστήρι για επιβράβευση. Η Δέσπω στην συνέχεια αφού αποφοίτησε από το Λύκειο πήγε σε κολλέγιο στην Λευκωσία, όπου σπούδασε γραμματειακές σπουδές. Στην συνέχεια εργάστηκε ως υπάλληλος σε ναυτιλιακή εταιρεία και αργότερα επι σειρά ετών στο αεροδρόμιο Λάρνακας ως συνοδός εδάφους. Από τον γάμο της με τον Αντώνη Ηλία απέκτησαν ένα γιο και μια κόρη. Ο Αντώνης Ηλία, σπούδασε Οικονομικά στην Λυών. Μετά τις σπουδές του εργοδοτήθηκε στην Ελληνική Τράπεζα όπου και αφυπηρέτησε ως Διευθυντής. Η Δέσπω ασχολείται για πολλά χρόνια με την ζωγραφική όπως και η μητέρα της. Επίσης είναι σε χορωδία. The specific copy of the photo was rescued because relatives of Astero in USA had it in their photographic archive.
