Μέσα στο δάσος της Αθαλάσσας και συγκεκριμένα στο παλαιό μηχανουργείο της Αγροτικής έπαυλης Αθαλάσσας, φιλοξενείται ένας μικρός θησαυρός. Πρόκειται για τη συλλογή παλαιών αντικειμένων αγροτικής ζωής του Τμήματος Γεωργίας, ένα υλικό που καταγράφει την πορεία της γεωργίας στην Κύπρο, καθώς και διάφορες εκφάνσεις της Κυπριακής αγροτικής ζωής.
Η συλλογή περιλαμβάνει πάνω από 1500 αντικείμενα από την προβιομηχανική κοινωνία της Κύπρου, που χρονολογούνται από το 18ο - 20ο αιώνα. Περιλαμβάνει επίσης και τα πρώτα μεγάλα γεωργικά μηχανήματα. Τα αντικείμενα είναι κατανεμημένα σε ενότητες, ανάλογα με τον κλάδο που εξυπηρετούν, αλλά και το υλικό κατασκευής τους. Κάποιες από τις ενότητες του μουσείου είναι αμπελουργία, αρτοποιία, κεραμική, ποιμενικά, υφαντική, οικιακά σκεύη, λιθοτεχνία, μεταλλουργία, ξυλογλυπτική, χαλκοτεχνία, εργαλεία κωμοδρόμου, πελεκάνου, στρατουρά.

Μέσα στο δάσος της Αθαλάσσας και συγκεκριμένα στο παλαιό μηχανουργείο της Αγροτικής έπαυλης Αθαλάσσας, φιλοξενείται ένας μικρός θησαυρός. Πρόκειται για τη συλλογή παλαιών αντικειμένων αγροτικής ζωής του Τμήματος Γεωργίας, ένα υλικό που καταγράφει την πορεία της γεωργίας στην Κύπρο, καθώς και διάφορες εκφάνσεις της Κυπριακής αγροτικής ζωής.
Η συλλογή περιλαμβάνει πάνω από 1500 αντικείμενα από την προβιομηχανική κοινωνία της Κύπρου, που χρονολογούνται από το 18ο - 20ο αιώνα. Περιλαμβάνει επίσης και τα πρώτα μεγάλα γεωργικά μηχανήματα. Τα αντικείμενα είναι κατανεμημένα σε ενότητες, ανάλογα με τον κλάδο που εξυπηρετούν, αλλά και το υλικό κατασκευής τους. Κάποιες από τις ενότητες του μουσείου είναι αμπελουργία, αρτοποιία, κεραμική, ποιμενικά, υφαντική, οικιακά σκεύη, λιθοτεχνία, μεταλλουργία, ξυλογλυπτική, χαλκοτεχνία, εργαλεία κωμοδρόμου, πελεκάνου, στρατουρά.
Προς το παρόν ο χώρος δεν είναι ανοικτός προς το κοινό, σημαντικό όμως βήμα για το ΜΚΥ, αποτελεί η συνεργασία με το ΤΕΠΑΚ και η ψηφιακή ανάδειξη των αντικειμένων αγροτικής ζωής, που συνδέονταν άρρηκτα με την επιβίωση των κατοίκων του νησιού.

The mosaics of the "House of Dionysos" in Paphos, whence this detail depicting Icarius and the drinkers comes from, are incredible to behold and date back to the early 3rd century A.D. when Paphos under the Romans was the capital of Cyprus. According to legend although Oeneus was the first mortal to be given a vine plant by Dionysus, Icarius anticipated Oeneus in the making of wine. Icarius offered a sample of wine from his trial jarful to a party of shepherds in the Marathonian woods, who, failing to mix it with water, grew so drunk that they saw everything double and believing themselves bewitched, killed Icarius.
