The original cavehermitage which the Saint named his "Enkleistra"" (seclusion), with the adjoining cave chapel of the Holy Cross are the most important parts of the monastery. The three consecutive caves namely the nave, the sanctuary and the cell are completely painted. The 100m stamp depicts the wall painting in the sanctuary of St. Neophytos supported by the Archangels Michael and Gabriel who hold him by the shoulders. The huge forests where dense trees stand upright side by side are considered to have had an effect on Central Europe leading it to adopt a disciplined behaviour.
