The Integrated Accounting and Inventory Control System, was developed having in mind the specifications for a computerized system that will satisfy the needs of small and medium sized companies providing also facilities for handling a group of companies.
Accounting and Inventory Control System is a very large area of investigation and study which to be analyzed and developed needs a lot of human effort for many years and still there is need for more improvement and expansion. For this large area of Accounting and Inventory Control System we attempted to give solutions concerning the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control and Invoicing modules.
During the period of analysis and design, which took almost one year, we had many meetings and discussions with experts in the Accounting and Inventory control fields that help us to finally develop this project.
The major aim of the project is to identify the functions that a commercial business carries out, in the areas of the four modules examined, and develop a new system that will computerize those functions from manual to computer system. The main system functions are to enable the business to control its daily transactions, the sales to its customers and the status of the inventory. Also the management is given the chance to have many reports at the time required.
The approach used to anticipate the analysis and development of this project is the system development life cycle as illustrated in chapter 1.
