Later on, late 1956 and early 1957 the cinema moved to a new building at the entrance of Agios Athanasios until the late 80s. Movies were also projected during the summer in the open part of the cinema. Except for movies, the place was also used for other events such as theatrical performances, meetings, dances, weddings. The residents’ main occupation was agriculture particularly the production of carob, cereals crops, livestock, as well as quarrying and stone gypsopetras (matsarangas) for building works (houses, schools, churches). Lime industry was also one of the main occupations of the inhabitants which led to an increased number of lime quarries and lime kilns in the area. Also, many residents were lumberjacks and supplied the town of Limassol with firewood.
