An account of the resource
Η καθημερινότητα των κατοίκων της Άσσιας, όπως και των χωριών της υπόλοιπης Κύπρου, περιλάμβανε παραδοσιακές ασχολίες είτε στο σπίτι είτε στα χωράφια του Μεσαρίτικου κάμπου. Όσον αφορά την κυπριακή οικία, αυτή αποτελούνταν από εσωτερική αυλή, η οποία συχνά περιλάμβανε πηγάδι για να εξυπηρετεί τις ανάγκες της οικογένειας αλλά και παραδοσιακό ξυλόφουρνο για το ψήσιμο αρτοποιημάτων και φαγητών. Επιπρόσθετα, η ζωή των χωρικών, ως αγροτική, επικεντρωνόταν γύρω από διάφορες γεωργικές και κτηνοτροφικές ασχολίες όπως το όργωμα της γης με ξύλινο άροτρο, τον θερισμό με το δρεπάνι, το αλώνισμα, το λίχνισμα και την εκτροφή προβάτων και αιγών.
People living in Assia village, and any other village in Cyprus during the early-mid 20th century, were involved in traditional activities either within the house or in the fields of Mesaoria plain. The authentic Cypriot house included an internal courtyard with a well and/or a wood stove. Additionally, villagers' life focused on farming and stock-farming activities such as the cultivation of arable lands by using the wooden plough and two cows, harvesting with a billhook, threshing, winnowing and stock-breeding practices.
