Τέτοιες στην Κυπερούντα ήταν η Στυλιανή Χατζηθεόδωρου και η Παρασκευού Σολωμή. Συχνά καλούνταν από διπλανά χωριά μαμμή αφού δεν υπήρχε στο χωριό. Τέτοια «διάσημη» μαμμή ήταν η Στυλιανή Γιαννή Τσαγγάρη από τα Αγρίδια. Η μεταφορά της μαμμής γινόταν με το γαϊδούρι και η πληρωμή της συχνά γινόταν σε είδος. Περί το 1935 ασκούσε τη μαιευτική στην Κυπερούντα μια ξένη, από τα κρασοχώρια, η Δέσποινα Χατζηβασίλη με βοηθό την αδελφή της μέχρι που το χωριό απέκτησε δική του μαμμή. Στη δεκαετία του 1930 λειτούργησε στη Λευκωσία, Σχολή Μαιών από την οποία αποφοίτησε αριθμός προσοντούχων μαιών. Στα τέλη της δεκαετίας 1930 αποφοίτησε από τη Σχολή η Ελένη Γιωρκή Παπαδοπούλου (Μουντζιή) και στις αρχές της δεκαετίας 1940 η Στέλλα Γιαννή Κυπρή Πετεινού, οι οποίες ανέλαβαν την αποστολή της άσκησης της μαιευτικής, η πρώτη στην Κυπερούντα και η δεύτερη στον Αμίαντο, σώζοντας αρκετές γυναίκες από τον επιλόχιο θάνατο που ήταν σύνηθες φαινόμενο κατά τις προηγούμενες δεκαετίες. Άσκησαν τη μαιευτική μέχρι το τέλος της δεκαετίας 1950 οπόταν αυτή ανελήφθη από τα νοσοκομεία Αμιάντου και Σανατορίου που διέθεταν ιατρούς, μαίες και κατάλληλο εξοπλισμό. Η Στέλλα ήταν κόρη του Γιαννή Κυπρή Πετεινού και της Αννεζούς Μιχαήλ Γιαννή Φελλά. Γεννήθηκε το 1923. Σπούδασε στη Σχολή Μαιών και άσκησε τη μαιευτική στην Κυπερούντα και στα γύρω χωριά. Το 1947 γνώρισε και παντρεύτηκε τον Χρίστο Παπαϊωάννου από τα Σπήλια, με τον οποίο αξιώθηκε να γεννήσει και να αναθρέψει δέκα παιδιά, τους Γιαννάκη, Σόνια, Άγγελο, Χλόη, Φάνη, Ανδρέα, Κωστάκη, Μιχαλάκη, Μάριο και Ρογήρο.
