Yeri Municipality, Historic Photographs Description An account of the resource Συλλογή φωτογραφιών του Ιστορικού Μουσείου Γερίου Από την πρώτη στιγμή που άρχισα να παίρνω στα χέρια μου τις φωτογραφίες ,κυρίως μαυρόασπρες , που με τόση καλοσύνη, ειλικρίνεια και αυθορμητισμό μου εμπιστεύτηκαν οι κάτοικοι του Γέριου, δοκίμασα την έκπληξη και απρόσμενη χαρά εκείνου που ανακαλύπτει ένα μεγάλο θησαυρό. Ήταν ολοφάνερο ότι επρόκειτο για μια ανεκτίμητη φωτογραφική αποτύπωση της ιστορίας, της λαογραφίας και των ηθών και εθίμων του Γερίου από το τελευταίο τέταρτο του 19 ου αιώνα. Φωτογραφίες που αφηγούνται με μοναδικό τρόπο την καθημερινότητα των κατοίκων του Γερίου σε μια περίοδο τόσο κοντινή και ταυτόχρονα τόσο μακρινή . Για όσους έζησαν το πρώιμο κύριο μέρος της περιόδου αυτής. Οι φωτογραφίες ζωντανεύουν μνήμες και ανακαλούν βιώματα και εμπειρίες. Για όσους ήρθαν μετά αποτελούν πολύτιμη πηγή πληροφόρησης, μάθησης και γνωριμίας με τις ρίζες τους. Τω καιρώ εκείνο ο κόσμος του Γερίου ήταν εκείνος του Διαμαντή. Ένας κόσμος ,πού πολύ σύντομα θα μπει στη φάση της μεγάλης αλλαγής. Το ησιόδειο άροτρο (ξηλάλετρο) και ο αροτήρας βους , που όργωναν τη γη για χιλιάδες χρόνια , υποχωρούν και αφανίζονται μπροστά στην αδυσώπητη θριαμβευτική απέλαση του τρακτέρ. Το βιοτικό και μορφωτικό επίπεδο ανεβαίνει μαζί με την αύξηση του εισοδήματος. Η νέα εποχή φέρνει την αφθονία και την ευμάρεια. Το μέλλον προδιαγράφεται εύμοιρο και αξιοπρεπές, χωρίς τις στερήσεις, τις κακουχίες και την μιζέρια της στέγνιας και της αναβροχιάς του χθες, με τον τοκογλύφο και τα αξόφλητα χρέη και τα άλα ούνα με τις εκποιήσεις της σοδειάς, των ζωντανών, των χωραφιών και του έσσω τους και της ψυχής τους. Τραγούδια, παραδόσεις, ξόρκια και ευχές , συνήθειες λατρευτικές, σπιτική ζωή και δουλειές του κάμπου, χαρές και λύπες του γάμου και του γλεντιού χορό , μουσική ντύσιμο και σπιτικές τέχνες, όλα σχεδόν τα βρίσκουμε σ αυτό το φωτογραφικό θησαυρό. Είναι γεγονός ότι στο τόπο μας έχει διατηρηθεί, τόσο γλωσσικά όσο και λαογραφικά, μια πιο αδιατάρακτα δεμένη με την αρχαία ελληνική βυζαντινή ζωή, λαϊκή παράδοση. Για να ταξιδέψει κάνεις στο χρόνο χρειάζεται συμφωνία με τα σενάρια επιστημονικής φαντασίας, μια μηχανή του χρόνου. Οι φωτογραφίες της συλλογής αυτής αποτελούν τη μηχανή που μας ταξιδεύει στο παρελθόν. Μετατρέπουν σε ζωντανό ταξίδι στη μνήμη μας όπου ανάγλυφα δημιουργούνται ξανά τα τοπία, οι άνθρωποι, οι δρόμοι και η καθημερινότητα των παιδικών και νεανικών χρόνων. Μας ταξιδεύουν πίσω στο χρόνο το χώρο και τα συναισθήματα, διατηρώντας ασβέστη τη μνήμη. Still Image A static visual representation.
