<text>The church of Panagia Karmiotissa is located north of Pano Polemidia area in Limassol, Cyprus. The church was erected circa in late 13th-early 14th century by Carmelite monks, who migrated from Palestine to Cyprus due to the upheaval caused by the Crusades. According to oral tradition, on this area a settlement was developed due to the existence of a spring. Through a water channel, the water or sacred water was transferred to the city center and the church of Ayia Napa. The church was dedicated to Panayia Eleousa and consists the sole remnant of an old monastery. In architectural terms, the monument is a Gothic structure and, specifically, a single-nave, without apse basilica, roofed with a pointed arch and two attached rooms on the northern side, which today can be meet in a ruinous state. The church celebrates on Easter Tuesday.</text>
