The barber shop was located on the corner of Athinon and Saripolou streets. On the photograph, Ttofis (far left) is pictured along with his two friends. The third man from left standing is Pangalos, shirt maker, who had his business next to the barber shop of Ttofis. During the mid-20th century, barber shops operated also as novelty shops, i.e. small gift shops selling fragrances for men, ties, tobacco etc. In addition, at the barber shops there was the tradition for a mandolin player to be present who accompanied the barber while he was working.
