Παλαιότερα γινόταν κατά το βράδυ της Δευτέρας μετά την Κυριακή του γάμου. Τα τελευταία χρόνια γίνεται κατά κανόνα περί το μεσονύκτιο της Κυριακής του γάμου, αφού ο εορτασμός του γάμου περιορίστηκε πλέον από μια βδομάδα σε μια μέρα. Κατά τη διάρκεια του χορού οι συγγενείς και οι φίλοι του νέου ξευγαριού «πλουμίζουν», δηλαδή φιλοδωρούν με χρήματα το νέο ζευγάρι. Παλαιότερα τα χρήματα τοποθετούνταν σε ένα πιάτο που βρισκόταν στο τραπέζι υποδοχής. Αργότερα, στις δεκαετίες 1970-2010, καθιερώθηκε το καρφίτσωμα των χαρτονομισμάτων μεταξύ τους σε μορφή αρμαθιάς και το κρέμασμά της από τους ώμους ή ακόμη και σε μορφή στέμματος στο κεφάλι των νεονύμφων. Στη φωτογραφία φωτογραφίζονται με το ανδρόγυνο (Μάριος, γιος του Δημήτρη Αγαπίου-Βυζακιά και Κυριακούς Μ. Μουστακά-Κυπερούντα) σε ανάμνηση του γεγονότος η νονά του πατέρα του γαμπρού (Αγάπιου Μιχάλη Δ. Ήταν καμωμένο από μάλλινο ύφασμα (κασμήρι). Στην Κυπερούντα την τέχνη του ράπτη έφερε ο Βυζακιώτης ράπτης Νεόφυτος Χρίστου «Ζαόστομος» που στη συνέχεια τη δίδαξε στον Νίκο Ρωσίδη και Χαμπή Καπιτάνο, και αυτοί σε άλλους. Κατά κανόνα τον ρόλο του ψηστιέρη της σούβλας είχε ο έμπειρος παππούς. Μεγάλη του χαρά και ικανοποίηση ήταν ήταν να δει όλη του την οικογένεια μαζεμένη και αγαπημένη.
