Στο εσωτερικό της εκκλησίας , στην ανατολική πλευρά του τυφλού τόξου του βόρειου τοίχου και στο δυτικό τμήμα του νότιου τοίχου διασώζονται σπαράγματα από δύο στρώματα τοιχογραφιών. Στο τρούλλο επίσης διασώζεται τοιχογραφία του παντοκράτορα. Στο τεταρτοσφαίριο της αψίδας διασώζεται τμήμα αδιάγνωστης τοιχογραφίας. Στο βόρειο τοίχο σώζεται μεγάλο τμήμα από τοιχογραφία του αγίου Γεωργίου καβαλάρη η οποία χρονολογείται στο 12ο -13ο αιώνα. Διάφορα μορφολογικά και τυπολογικά στοιχεία βοηθούν στην χρονολόγηση της εκκλησίας. Το χαμηλό τύμπανο του τρούλου το συναντούμε σε μνημεία 11ου-12ου αιώνος, τα ημικυκλικά τόξα και οι ημικυκλικές καμάρες συναντώνται σε μνημεία πριν από τα τέλη του 12ου αιώνος. Συμπερασματικά καταλήγουμε ότι η εκκλησία κτίστηκε τον 11ο ή 12ο αιώνα και διακοσμήθηκε τον 12ο, 13ο και 14ο αιώνα. Εσωτερικά η εκκλησία έχει παντού επίχρισμα από γυψοκονίαμα κάτω από το οποίο διασώζονται τοιχογραφίες. Κατά την επισκευή της εκκλησίας πριν από μερικά χρόνια αποκαλύφθηκαν δοκιμαστικά 2 τοιχογραφίες οι οποίες είναι εξαίρετης τέχνης και χρονολογούνται στα τέλη του 15ου ή αρχές 16ου αιώνος. Έτσι η εκκλησία πιθανότατα να κτίστηκε περί τα τέλη του 15ου αιώνος. Η εκκλησία έχει σήμερα δύο εισόδους. Μία στο μέσο του Δυτικού τοίχου και μία στον Νότιο Τοίχο. Η αρχική εκκλησία φαίνεται να είχε μόνο μία είσοδο στο μέσο του Δυτικού τοίχου. Στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα φαίνεται ότι επιδιορθώθηκε η στέγη της εκκλησίας, κατασκευάστηκε γυναικωνίτης και ανοίχθηκαν τα κουφώματα που υπάρχουν σήμερα. Το 1891 σύμφωνα με επιγραφή στο θωράκιο (ποδιά) της πρόθεσης κατασκευα-στηκε νέο ξύλινο τέμπλο στην εκκλησία. Το τέμπλο αυτό βάφτηκε με χρυσομπογιά το 1967 με αποτέλεσμα να χάσει πολλά από την αισθητική του αξία. Στην Ν/Α γωνία της εκκλησίας υπάρχει κωδονοστάσιο με ορθοκομμένους λαξευτούς πωρόλιθους το οποίο φαίνεται να ενσωματώθηκε στην εκκλησία τον 18ο αιώνα. Τόσο ο τρούλος όσο και το τεταρτοσφαίριο κόγχης Ιερού καθώς και οι υπόλοιπες στέγες του Παρεκκλησίου είναι επενδυμένες με πήλινο βυζαντινό κεραμίδι (χωλέτρι). Η εκκλησία έχει δυο κύριες εισόδους, μια στο μέσο του Δυτικού και μια στο μέσο του Νότιου τοίχου. Οι θύρες αυτές είναι ξύλινες δίφυλλες. Επίσης έχει 4 παράθυρα στο τύμπανο τρούλου και 1 παράθυρο στην κόγχη του Ιερού. Τα παράθυρα αυτά έχουν πέτρινα θωράκια με κυκλικές οπές στις οποίες υπάρχει μονό γυαλί. Εσωτερικά η εκκλησία πρέπει να ήταν ολόκληρη αγιογραφημένη. Σήμερα διασώζονται σπάργανα τοιχογραφιών. Στην κόγχη του Ιερού σώζεται η Πλατυτέρα και πιο κάτω οι 3 Ιεράρχες. Τοιχογραφίες υπάρχουν και σε διάφορα άλλα τμήματα των εσωτερικών τοίχων. Το δάπεδο της εκκλησίας είναι από γυψομάρμαρο. Το τέμπλο είναι ξυλόγλυπτο με ωραία σκαλίσματα. Από τις τέσσερεις αψίδες που στηρίζουν τον τρούλο, κρέμεται μπρούντζινος πολυέλαιος κυκλικός (χορός). Η εκκλησία χρονολογείται στον 16ο αιώνα και είναι μνημείο Β΄ πίνακα του Τμήματος Αρχαιοτήτων. Έχει εμβαδόν περίπου 50 τ.μ. Η εκκλησία ανήκει στον παραδοσιακό Κυπριακό τύπο της μονόκλιτης ξυλόστεγης με πήλινα πλακοειδή αγκιστρωτά κεραμίδια. Οι εξωτερικές τοιχοποιίες είναι κτισμένες με ακατέργαστους σκληρούς λίθους και έχουν φαρδύ αρμολόγημα το οποίο καλύπτει και μεγάλο τμήμα της πέτρας. Όπως συμβαίνει με την πλειοψηφία των εκκλησιών αυτού του τύπου έχουμε πολύ λίγα ανοίγματα. Η είσοδος στον ναό γίνεται μίας δίφυλλης χαμηλής ξύλινης θύρας στο μέσο του Δυτικού τοίχου ή μέσω δίφυλλης ξύλινης θύρας με τοξοτό ( οξυκόρυφο) ανώφλι στο μέσο του νότιου τοίχου. Πέραν των 2 ανωτέρω θυρών στον φωτισμό του χώρου συμβάλλουν και ορθογωνικό παράθυρο στον νότιο τοίχο και μικρό ορθογωνικό παράθυρο στην κόγχη του Ιερού. Η εκκλησία μέχρι πρόσφατα εθεωρείτο ως μνημείο της εποχής της Ενετοκρατίας. Η πρώτη αναφορά που έχουμε για το μνημείο προέρχεται από τον Gunnis η οποία μιλά για επισκευές που έγιναν στο μνημείο το 1780 και για το προσκυνητάρι και το τέμπλο του 17ου αιώνα. Η πυρκαγιά που έπληξε το μνημείο το 2000 μ.χ. και η συντήρηση του από το Τμήμα αρχαιοτήτων έφεραν στο φώς νέα στοιχεία. Σε έκθεση της αρχαιολογικής λειτουργού κ. Ελένης Προκοπίου η οποία προΐστατο του κλιμακίου του Τ.Α. αναφέρεται ότι το μνημείο έχει μια πολύ παλαιότερη ιστορία. Η αρχική φάση του μνημείου φαίνεται να κτίστηκε στις αρχές ή στα μέσα του 11ου αιώνος. Η φάση αυτή αποτελεί μια ιδιαίτερη υποκατηγορία του συνεπτυγμένου σταυροειδούς ναού με τρούλο χωρίς σταυρική διάταξη στεγών. Από την πρώτη αυτή φάση σώζονται ο ημικυ- λινδρος της αψίδας με το τοξωτό παράθυρο, τα γωνιακά αψιδώματα (πλήν του Νοτιοανατολικού) , οι γενέσεις το καμάρων του ανατολικού και δυτικού σκέλους της κατά μήκος κεραίας και τα μέτωπα των παραστάδων. Στις αρχές της φραγκοκρατίας πιθανότατα τον 13ο αιώνα (πιθανόν λόγω κατάρρευσης του τρούλου) μία συνεχής ελαφρώς οξυκόρυφη καμάρα αντικατέστησε τον τρούλο και ενδεχομένως τα τμήματα των καμάρων πάνω από τα σκέλη. Οι θολίτες των καμάρων που έφεραν τον τρούλο εντοιχίστηκαν σε δύο ανακουφιστικά τόξα στα νέα τοιχώματα. Αργότερα πιθανόν στις εργασίες ανακαίνισης του 1780 που αναφέρει ο Gunnis η καμάρα αντικαταστάθηκε από ξύλινη δίρριχτη στέγη και ενισχύθηκε από δύο οξυκόρυφα σφενδόνια (καμαρικά). Από τις περιμετρικές ανασκαφές εντοπίστηκαν στα δυτικά ερείπια οικοδομημάτων καθώς και ταφές μεσαιωνικής περιόδου. Η νέα αυτή χρονολόγηση της αρχικής φάσης του μνημείου στην μεσοβυζαντινή περίοδο μας αφήνει ανοικτό το ενδεχόμενο να ταυτίζεται το μνημείο με το καθολικό της Μονής του Στύλλου (εξάρτημα της μεγάλης Μονής του Αγρού). Είναι μικρή μονόχωρη εκκλησία ορθογωνικού σχήματος με εξωτερικές διαστάσεις 11.00χ5.00 μ περίπου χωρίς την αψίδα. Οι τοιχοποιίες της είναι από ακατέργαστη πέτρα και έχουν πάχος 60 περίπου εκατοστά. Εσωτερικά η εκκλησία ήταν κάποτε πλήρως αγιογραφημένη. Σήμερα δυστυχώς διασώζονται υπολείμματα διαφόρων τοιχογραφιών τα οποία κάηκαν στην μεγάλη πυρκαγιά που επισυνέβη στην εκκλησία το 1972. Μετά την πυρκαγιά η οποία κατέστρεψε πλήρως τα ξύλινα στοιχεία της εκκλησίας οι τοιχογραφίες έχασαν τα χρώματα τους. Με την πυρκαγιά καταστράφηκαν και 36 μετάλλια με μορφές αγίων που κοσμούσαν τις μαντωσιές της ξύλινης στέγης της εκκλησίας. Μετά την πυρκαγιά η εκκλησία συντηρήθηκε από το Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων. Οι τοιχογραφίες που διασώζονται χρονολογούνται στα μέσα του 16ου αιώνος. Έτσι η εκκλησία είναι πιθανότατα κτίσμα του 15ου/16ου αιώνος. Οι τοξοστοιχίες που διαχωρίζουν τα 3 κλίτη του ναού ανήκουν στην αρχική εκκλησία και επ αυτών διασώζονται τοιχογραφίες του 1500μ.χ. Τα τόξα στις τοξοστοιχίες είναι οξυκόρυφα γοτθικής μορφής. Οι εξωτερικές τοιχοποιίες και η αψίδα κτίστηκαν το 1727 ως μαρτυρείται από επιγραφή κάτω από μισοκατεστραμένη εικόνα αγίου η οποία αναφέρει <1727 Αυγούστου 28 Αρχηνήθην ο παρόν ναός θίος και ιερός υπό συνεργίας και πολλής σπουδής Γεωργίου και των τέκνων αυτού.> Η στέγη της εκκλησίας είναι δίρριχτη ξύλινη με μεγάλη κλίση και πήλινα πλακοειδή αγκιστρωτά κεραμίδια. Η στέγη αυτή φαίνεται να κατασκευάστηκε τον 18ο αιώνα και δεν συμφωνεί με την αρχική στέγη. Ο Gunnis αναφέρει ότι η αρχική εκκλησία ήταν μια σημαντική και μεγαλόπρεπη λατινική εκκλησία. Πέραν της ανωτέρω θύρας υπάρχει και δεύτερη θύρα στο πίσω μέρος του βόρειου τοίχου η οποία ανοίχθηκε μεταγενέστερα. Πέραν των ανωτέρω θυρών στο φωτισμό της εκκλησίας συμβάλλουν και δύο παράθυρα στο νότιο τοίχο. Στον δυτικό τοίχο της εκκλησίας διασώζονται υπολείμματα τοιχογραφιών του 15ου-16ου αιώνος. Το δάπεδο της εκκλησίας είναι από κυπριακό γυψομάρμαρο. Το ιερό βήμα είναι υπερυψωμέν0 κατά ένα σκαλί σε σχέση με την υπόλοιπη εκκλησία και διαχωρίζεται με ξυλόγλυπτο εικονοστάσιο του 17ου αιώνος το οποίο προφανώς αντικατέστησε άλλο παλαιότερο. Τα βημόθυρα ζωγραφίστηκαν από τον Ιωαννίκιο το 1667. Στην αγία τράπεζα στο ιερό υπάρχει ξύλινο σκαλιστό κουβούκλιο επιζωγραφισμένο. Στον δυτικό τοίχο της εκκλησίας υπάρχει μικρός ξύλινος γυναικωνίτης. Η ανάβαση στο γυναικωνίτη επιτυγχάνεται μέσω ξύλινης σκάλας η οποία εκτείνεται στο νότιο ήμισυ του δυτικού τοίχου. Η εκκλησία είναι μνημείο Β πίνακα και χρονολογείται στα τέλη του 15ου αιώνος.
