Είναι κτισμένο στην άκρη κάθετου βράχου στο σημείο όπου σύμφωνα με την παράδοση η Αγία ανελήφθη στον ουρανό μαζί με τον σύζυγό της Τιμόθεο. Είναι μονόκλιτη με τρούλο αλλά καλύπτεται με δεύτερη επικλινή στέγη. Η εκκλησία είναι πετρόκτιστη. Έχει είσοδο στο μέσο του βόρειου τοίχου. Στη δυτική πλευρά και σε επίπεδο 3 σκαλιά ψηλότερο υπάρχει νάρθηκας ο οποίος φαίνεται να προστέθηκε αργότερα. Εσωτερικά η εκκλησία είναι σχεδόν παντού τοιχογραφημένη με τοιχογραφίες 2 φάσεων. Οι πρώτες τοιχογραφίες χρονολογούνται από τον 12ο αιώνα. Φαίνεται ότι τον 15ο αιώνα έγιναν νέες τοιχογραφίες πάνω από τις αρχικές. Στον τρούλο εικονίζεται ο Παντοκράτορας, στα σφαιρικά τρίγωνα ιστορούνται οι Ευαγγελιστές. Στις καμάρες οροφής εσωτερικά υπάρχουν παραστάσεις από τη ζωή του Χριστού (η Γέννηση, η Ανάσταση, ο Μυστικός Δείπνος, η Ανάληψη κλπ). Στην κόγχη του Ιερού εικονίζεται στο τεταρτοσφαίριο η Θεοτόκος ένθρονη με τον Χριστό στα γόνατά της και εκατέρωθεν οι Αρχάγγελοι Μιχαήλ και Γαβριήλ που θυμιατίζουν. Πιο κάτω εικονίζεται η κοινωνία των Αποστόλων και αριστερά και δεξιά από το ορθογώνιο παράθυρο της κόγχης ιστορούνται οι Ιεράρχες : Άγιος Σπυρίδων, Άγιος Χρυσόστομος, Άγιος Βασίλειος και Άγιος Επιφάνιος. Το δάπεδο της εκκλησίας είναι από κυπριακό γυψομάρμαρο. Το Ιερό Βήμα είναι υπερυψωμένο κατά 1 σκαλί από τον υπόλοιπο ναό και διαχωρίζεται με ξύλινο σκαλιστό τέμπλο. Η εκκλησία είναι κτίσμα 12ου αιώνος. Είναι μνημείο Β΄ Πίνακα του Τμήματος Αρχαιοτήτων και τυγχάνει επιμελημένης και συστηματικής συντήρησης.  ΜΕΓΕΘΟΣ: Η εκκλησία έχει εσωτερικές διαστάσεις 6,10 μ. Χ 3,40 μ. Με το πάχος τοίχων και την ημικυκλική προεξοχή της κόγχης του Ιερού, το κτήριο έχει συνολικό εμβαδόν 35 τ.μ. περίπου. Η ανωδομή είναι από πέτρινο κέλυφος σε σχήμα οξυκόρυφης καμάρας και από πάνω υπάρχει δίρριχτη στέγη με πήλινο κεραμίδι γαλλικού τύπου. Η κόγχη του Ιερού είναι πεντάπλευρη. Το κέλυφός της είναι τεταρτοσφαίριο κτισμένο με πέτρα και επιχρισμένο με ασβεστοκονίαμα. Στη νότια και στη βόρεια πλευρά της εκκλησίας υπάρχουν στεγασμένες στοές. Το εξωτερικό μέτωπο των στοών αποτελείται από πέτρινες αψίδες και η στέγη είναι ξύλινη με πήλινο κεραμίδι γαλλικού τύπου. Στη νοτιοανατολική γωνία υπάρχει καμπαναριό τριών στάσεων. Η πρώτη στάση είναι από πελεκητή πέτρα και είναι ενσωματωμένη στη γωνία της εκκλησίας μέχρι το γείσο της στέγης. Οι άλλες δυο στάσεις που συνεχίζουν πάνω από τη στέγη είναι από οπλισμένο σκυρόδεμα. Στις καμάρες 2ης και 3ης στάσης υπάρχουν 2 μέτριες καμπάνες. Η εκκλησία έχει 2 δίφυλλες εισόδους στη νότια πλευρά και 2 δίφυλλες εισόδους στη βόρεια πλευρά. Είναι όλες ξύλινες με τοξωτό ανώφλι. Εσωτερικά το δάπεδο της εκκλησίας είναι από μωσαϊκή μαρμαρίνη με διαγώνια τοποθέτηση και εξαιρετικής τέχνης μαυρόασπρα μοτίβα Το Ιερό Βήμα είναι 2 σκαλιά υπερυψωμένο και διαχωρίζεται από την υπόλοιπη εκκλησία με ξυλόγλυπτο τέμπλο το οποίο έχει περίτεχνα σκαλίσματα. Στη δυτική πλευρά της εκκλησίας υπάρχει ξύλινος γυναικωνίτης ο οποίος στηρίζεται στις 3 πλευρές στις τοιχοποιίες και στην ανατολική του πλευρά σε πέτρινη αψίδα. Η ανάβαση στον γυναικωνίτη γίνεται μέσω στενής σκάλας στη βορειοδυτική γωνία. Στο μέσο του βόρειου τοίχου υπάρχει ξύλινος σκαλιστός άμβωνας. Η ανάβαση γίνεται μέσω στενής σκάλας στο πάχος του πετρόκτιστου τοίχου. ΧΡΟΝΟΛΟΓΗΣΗ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣ: Η εκκλησία χρονολογείται ως κτίσμα των αρχών του 17ου αιώνος. Σχετική επιγραφή στην πρόσοψη του ναού με ημετρ. 1769 αναφέρει ότι< ο νεόδμητος τούτος ναός ανηγέρθη από τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Χρύσανθο με χρήματα που άφησε ο προκάτοχος του Αρχιεπίσκοπος Παίσιος ο οποίος ήταν από το Κοιλάνι. Ο επίσης Κοιλανιώτης αρχιμανδρίτης Κυπριανός αναφέρει ότι εκκλησία ανακαινίστηκε με χρήματα που άφησε ο Αρχιεπίσκοπο Παΐσιος ο οποίος ανέβηκε στον αρχιεπισκοπικό θρόνο από το 1759 – 1766. Επίσης στο εσωτερικό δίπλα από τοιχογραφία στο βόρειο τοίχο υπάρχει άλλη επιγραφή με μαύρα γράμματα <Επί Μακαρίου αψοβ (1772) η οποία μάλλον φαίνεται να αναφέρεται στην αποπεράτωση της ανακαίνισης του ναού από τον Κιτίου Μακάριο τον Α. Εκτός από τις δύο θύρες το μοναδικό άλλο άνοιγμα που υπάρχει στον ναό είναι μικρό παράθυρο στον ανατολικό τοίχο στο κέντρο της αψίδας. Το εσωτερικό δάπεδο είναι από κεραμιδόπλακες. Το ιερό βήμα είναι στο ίδιο επίπεδο με την υπόλοιπη εκκλησία και διαχωρίζεται από αυτήν με απλό χαμηλό ξύλινο τέμπλο. Η εκκλησία εσωτερικά είναι μερικώς αγιογραφημένη. Σε τυφλό τόξο στον βόρειο τοίχο κοντά στο τέμπλο διασώζεται τοιχογραφία του Αγίου Γεωργίου έφιππου η οποία περιβάλλεται με μικρότερες παραστάσεις από το μαρτύριο του αγίου. Κάτω δεξιά υπάρχει η προσωπογραφία του δωρητή και δυσανάγνωστη επιγραφή που δίδει δύο χρονολογίες. Η πρώτη 1768 φαίνεται να είναι η χρονολογία ανέγερσης του ναού και η δεύτερη <1775> η χρονολογία που έγινε η τοιχογραφία. Το τεμάχιο εφάπτεται δρόμου σε νότιο τμήμα του. Ανήκει στον τύπο της μονόκλιτης ξυλόστεγης. Το κτήριο είναι εξ ολοκλήρου κτισμένο με πέτρα. Έχει μακρόστενη ορθογώνια κάτοψη με μήκος 21,05 m και πλάτος 5,45 m. Η στέγη του είναι πολύ επικλινής και είναι επιστρωμένη με πήλινο επίπεδο αγκιστρωτό κεραμίδι. Είναι διπλή στέγη. Η εξωτερική στέγη έχει τις κεκλιμένες δοκούς να εδράζονται σε μαντοσιά στο εξωτερικό άκρο του τοίχου ενώ η εσωτερική έχει κεκλιμένες δοκούς οι οποίες εδράζονται σε δεύτερη μαντοσιά στο εσωτερικό μέρος του νότιου και βόρειου τοίχου. Εσωτερικά πάνω από τις κεκλιμένες δοκούς υπάρχει πλατύ σανίδωμα. Η εγκάρσια σύνδεση των κεκλιμένων μορίνων γίνεται με μεγάλης διατομής ξύλινα οριζόντια δοκάρια (σταυρώματα). Η εξωτερική και εσωτερική σειρά κεκλιμένων δοκών συνδέονται στο ψηλότερο σημείο της στέγης με κοινή κατά μήκος ξύλινη δοκό (μεσοκαρίνα). Οι εξωτερικές κεκλιμένες δοκοί εξέχουν από το βόρειο και νότιο τοίχο κατά 45 περίπου εκατοστά και καλύπτονται με το πήλινο πλακοειδές κεραμίδι παρέχοντας έτσι προστασία στους τοίχους. Η κόγχη του Ιερού εσωτερικά είναι ημικυκλική. Εξωτερικά είναι εντοιχισμένη σε ευθύ ανατολικό τοίχο. Η εκκλησία έχει 2 κύριες εισόδους μια στο μέσο του νότιου και μια στο μέσο του δυτικού τοίχου. Είναι ξύλινες δίφυλλες θύρες με τοξωτό ανώφλι. Επίσης έχει ανοιχθεί μονόφυλλη ξύλινη θύρα στο νότιο τοίχο του ιερού. Πέραν των θυρών, στον φωτισμό της εκκλησίας συμβάλουν και 1 μακρόστενο παράθυρο στο νότιο τοίχο, 1 μικρό ορθογώνιο παράθυρο πάνω από τη Δυτική είσοδο και μικρό μακρόστενο παράθυρο στην κόγχη του Ιερού. Το δάπεδο της εκκλησίας εσωτερικά είναι από κυπριακό γυψομάρμαρο. Το Ιερό Βήμα είναι υπερυψωμένο 1 σκαλί. Χωρίζεται από τον υπόλοιπο ναό με ξύλινο απλό τέμπλο επιζωγραφισμένο. Οι εικόνες του τέμπλου είναι εξαιρετικής τέχνης. Στην εκκλησία διασώζονται υπολείμματα τοιχογραφιών του 16ου αιώνα. Στο νότιο τοίχο υπάρχουν σκηνές από τη Δευτέρα Παρουσία καθώς και τμήματα άλλων παραστάσεων τα οποία είναι μισοκατεστραμμένα και δυσανάγνωστα. Πέραν των τοιχογραφιών, στην εκκλησία υπάρχουν αξιόλογες αρχαίες εικόνες όπως π.χ. του Αγίου Νικολάου 16ου αιώνα, η Παναγία η Κυκκώτισσα του 16ου αιώνα, του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνος 17ου αιώνα κλπ. Η αυλή της εκκλησίας εξωτερικά είναι πλακοστρωμένη με πέτρα Λεμεσού. Στο νοτιοδυτικό τμήμα της αυλής υπάρχει μικρό ξύλινο καμπαναριό.
