The two festive stamps depict the festive spirit of Christmas with children singing carols and a decorated Christmas tree.
The 64 cent stamp depicts the Nativity of Christ.
In a simplistic manner and in accordance with the Nazarene style, the Nativity of Christ, a signed work by the painter Constantis Sergios dated 1961, is situated in the alcove of the altar of the occupied church of Agios Ioannis of Prodromos in the enclosed city of Famagusta (Varosia). The place where the divine Nativity scene is situated is of particular interest since it symbolizes the Nativity cave and the area where offerings are given, namely the preparation of the sacred gifts by the priest.

He was born in Koilani on 3rd November 1923, the seventh child of Chrysanthos and Anastasia. His father made lutes and violins. From a very young age he showed his love for music. When he was 5 years old, at his own insistence, his father constructed him a small violin and the boy began to play from morning to night. He was gifted and born for music. He was self-taught, studied a lot by himself and played with equal ease and skill, all kinds of music, classical, folk, jazz, rebetika, dance music, orchestral music. With his talent and dedication to music, he contributed to the establishment and prosperity of jazz music in Cyprus and he lead local musical events to high levels. Whatever musical instrument happened to be in front of him, he took it in his hands and played it. He was a unique talent in improvisation, and a master (virtuoso) in execution. His contribution to the rescue and preservation of Cypriot folk music is one of the greatest services he offered to the country. From 1966 he collaborated with RIK and at the same time played in the most elite centres of the time with singers Sofia Vembo, Toni Marouda, Gounaris, Nana Mouschouri, Souli Sabah, Rena Vlachopoulou, Kalliopi Spyrou, Michalis Violaris, Doros Georgiadis.
He did orchestrations, composition - performances for theatrical schemes with great ease.
He was honoured by the State, by Unions, Municipalities, by the late Chief of the National Guard, Evangelos Florakis, by the Fotou Fotiadis Cultural Charitable Foundation which nominated him for the Guinness Award as a self-taught musician who played 30 instruments.
He possessed the knowledge of a well-educated musician who had acquired his knowledge little by little through his talent and dedication to his work, without any degrees.

Old Buses of Cyprus. Very nice pictures of the old buses, the means of transport of another era.
Once upon a time when private cars were a luxury item, the bus was the main means of transport connecting both the villages and the suburbs with urban centres.
With the passing of time and the huge increase in private vehicles, the old bus has slowly been sidelined and the few people who use public transport use the new modern and upgraded buses.
The old bus passed into oblivion. However, the few old buses that were saved from rust, disintegration and complete immobility are mainly used for wedding ceremonies and by businesses in the tourism sector.

For the tenth consecutive year, the member states of the the Postal Union for the Mediterranean "Euromed Postal" are issuing a stamp with a common theme. This year's theme is "Mediterranean Festival".
Festivals are wonderful expressions of culture, customs and joy.
The Cyprus stamp depicts the annual rose festival that takes place in Agros, one of the beautiful Cypriot villages and which is carried out with the aim of spreading the tradition of harvesting and processing roses. Almost all of the economy of the village is based around roses.
There are thousands of rose bushes and varieties of roses, especially fragrant roses from which the famous rose water is produced, as well as various other local delicacies and pure products.

“Peace the highest value of humanity” was PostEurop’s chosen theme for this year’s Europa stamp issue. Twenty-nine member countries submitted their design.
The 34c stamp highlights the fact that the future belongs to our children, thus the design motif depicts a child playing with his shadow, releasing doves and imagining a rainbow for a brighter and peaceful world.
The 64c stamp depicts Luxembourg’s winning design. It symbolizes a peacefully integrated society that embraces understanding and respect of cultural differences between nations irrespective of their colour. All the participants will now use this design.

The Cyprus Thalassaemia Association (CTA) is a Non-Governmental Organization which was founded by the parents and friends of people suffering from Thalassemia in their effort to protect their children’s rights against critical medical, social and economic problems and is the oldest patients’ association in our country. During the 5 decades of its activity, the CTA has focused its attention on all aspects of the medical treatment of people with Thalassemia, their integration into society and the working environment, their psychological support as well as the education and training of both patients as well as medical and nursing staff. 70 Years of the Pancyprian Greek Teachers Organization (POED)
The Pancyprian Greek Teachers Organization – POED, is the collective expression of Greek Cypriot Teachers of Primary, Pre-Primary and Special Education. It was founded on the 9th of April 1953 and currently has more than 6000 members.
The priority for the Organization is to promote and upgrade Public Education and Public Schools. Every day, POED supports teachers, fights for upgrading their prestige and dignity and guarantees their work benefits.
Through its 70-year course, its struggles and actions, POED has played and continues to play a decisive role in the historical, political, national, social and economic development of Cyprus.
50 years of the Cyprus Ports Authority
The Cyprus Ports Authority celebrates this year 50 years since its establishment and operation as the competent Semi-Governmental Organization that owns, manages and operates the port facilities and shipping aids of Cyprus.
The five-year course of the Organization in the port activities of the country which consists in its involvement in the commercial actions of the ports through its successful provision of services that it offers to the port industry of the country, as well as the Organization’s multifaceted social contribution to the country, is of historical importance.
Within the framework of the celebrations for the Authority’s 50 years of operation, a special anniversary logo of the Organization has been created which also features on the commemorative stamp which aims at promoting the Organisation’s path for half a century.

The Post Offices of Cyprus and Israel are releasing a joint commemorative edition on the subject of aerial firefighting.
Since both Cyprus and Israel, due to their proximity, experience and deal with situations of a similar nature arising from natural or man-made hazards, an Interstate Agreement and a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Cyprus Fire Service and the Israel Fire and Rescue Service, for their mutual and beneficial cooperation.
A mutual aid program was also established between the Republic of Cyprus and Israel for periods of major man-made and natural disasters for support purposes, by dispatching ground, air and rescue forces for firefighting during situations of crisis.

The festive stamps depict Santa Claus with his well-known laugh written in letters, Santa Claus' sleigh full of presents and Rudolph lighting up the night with his red nose for the most important journey of the year, carrying presents for children all around the world during the most festive night of the year.
The stamp with a religious content, depicts the opening of a cave where the Virgin Mary is seated on the left holding the newly born Christ swaddled in a shroud inside the manger. Joseph is depicted kneeling on the right, and an angel is standing behind the manger. The natural scenery depicts the Three Wise Men and the Annunciation of the Shepherds and a star and a group of angels appear in the sky holding a scroll on which the words "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men" are inscribed.
The icon is located in the Holy Church of Saint Savvas and was painted at the hagiography workshop of the Monastery of Saint George Alamanos in the late 1950s, according to the Nazarene style and by using the oil painting technique.

The World Cup is organised every four years by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). It is considered to be the most watched football tournament and the National teams of the countries which are members of the Federation which qualify by means of qualifying matches per continent, can participate, with the exception of the host country which qualifies immediately.
It is the leading football tournament that attracts many spectators, viewers and sponsors and was organized for the first time in Uruguay in 1930. Brazil has won 5 titles, followed by Germany and Italy with 4 titles. They are followed by Argentina, France, Uruguay with 2 tiles and England and Spain with 1 title.
In 2022 and for the first time in history, the last phase of the cup will be held in Qatar in which 32 teams will participate. The matches will start on the 21st of November 2022 and the grand finale will take place on the 18th of December 2022.
