Χατζηχαραλάμπους και συνέβαλε στην αποσυμφόρηση των άλλων 4-5 καφενείων της κεντρικής πλατείας. Όταν αργότερα ο καφετζής Μιχάλης εργοδοτήθηκε μόνιμα στη Συνεργατική Πιστωτική Εταιρεία Κυπερούντας, τον καφενέ ανέλαβε η σύζυγός του Μαρία, η οποία τον λειτούργησε με επιτυχία για μερικές ακόμη δεκαετίες. Κατά την περίοδο των δεκαετιών 1950-70 τα καφενεία ήταν το κέντρο συγκέντρωσης σχεδόν όλων των ανδρών της κοινότητας το πρωί πριν φύγουν για τη δουλειά και το βράδυ, όταν επέστρεφαν και μέχρι η σύζυγος να ετοιμάσει το δείπνο. Κατά κανόνα τα καφενεία διέθεταν ραδιόφωνο, που στις δεκαετίες 1950- 70 ήταν η μοναδική πηγή πληροφόρησης για τα συμβαίνοντα, αφού εφημερίδες έφθαναν μόνο τις Κυριακές. Έτσι οι θαμώνες συνδύαζαν τον καφέ με την πληροφόρηση αλλά και τη συζήτηση μεταξύ των συγχωριανών για τα διάφορα θέματα της κοινότητας ή και δικού τους ενδιαφέροντος. Ήταν τόπος όπου μπορούσε ένας να συναντήσει τον άλλο δίχως να χρειασθεί να πάει στο σπίτι του. Η παρακμή των καφενείων άρχισε στη δεκαετία του 1990, ως αποτέλεσμα της αποκέντρωσης των οικιών βάσει της νέας πολεοδομικής νομοθεσίας που επέτρεψε την ανέγερση μεμονωμένης κατοικίας σε όλη τη γεωργική γη και έτσι έπαψε σταδιακά να λειτουργεί το κέντρο των οικισμών. Σε αυτό συνετέλεσε και η επικράτηση της τηλεόρασης και του τηλεφώνου που συνέργησαν στην απομόνωση των κατοίκων. Στην τοποθεσία Ατσάς Κουτραφά, ο οδηγός έχασε τον έλεγχο του οχήματος με αποτέλεσμα σοβαρό δυστύχημα στο οποίο ο Σολομός τραυματίστηκε θανάσιμα.
